This is my space ship corridors/space hulk post. I have assembled both the basic set and the advanced set. Most of the basic set is painted and some of the advanced set is primed. Modular high walls are in the assembly/development stage at this point. The hulk game pieces and boards are by far the largest Hirst project I have ever undertaken. These pieces are very versitle and I will be using the pieces for other games as well as shelving display units. The 40k roll playing game Dark Heresy will be one of those games. I am also considering 40k patrols as well as necromunda. These smaller skirmish style games might be a load of fun in the confines of ship corridors and the like. Anyway here are the photos.
mission 1:suicide mission
one of the larger missions: 11 unknown lifeforms
Here are some picts of all the pieces from both sets.
Some rooms laid out
Some example shots of the modular high walls. For the pieces to be able to be used as display shelving I need to have the high walls in smaller more flexible sections. Below are some test sections and a couple corners.
I like the idea of ladders to get from one level to another!? That would be just to simple though, so I made a lift. This is my first attempt, so it is a bit rough. Any ship would have need for many lifts, so I may make more and better ones, we will see.
There is more to come as this massive project progresses! I will be adding tubing and wires for the lift, adding to the machine look of it. Painting will proceed as time and patience allows, that is a lot of pipes!! Thanks to all those who have posted before, great ideas, keep 'em coming!!
