Hey, what do you guys use for gap filling?
For anyone making molds of their finished builds, filling gaps is pretty important. Anything 1/8" or bigger will suck in the mold material, and it's hard to get sealant in there.
I first tried glue, but it's not great - it adheres and fills in details around the cracks as well.
I tried mixing some plaster, but it sets up too quick when in contact with cured plaster, hard to work with.
I tried Squadron white putty, and it's not bad, but has terribly noxious fumes.
So I've been using modeling clay so far, the kind that never hardens. It's not too bad, though I wish it would adhere a little more, it takes some effort to work it into the cracks securely.
Any other good options people have found?
