Well, I did not intend to post anything about my 'top secret big project' before it was complete, but I'm not quite sure how to finish it. The project was planned to be an entry for one of the HADD competitions about 5-6 years ago and I guess I missed that deadline... The project was pulled back off the shelf a couple months ago and I've once again been making progress on it. Since HADD no longer exists there is no reason to keep it secret and I feel I would be loosing out on some great feedback the community might have to help shape how the project turns out. That being said, I've decided to solicit some advice from the group.
This building is supposed to be an up-scale inn, songhouse with stage, and tavern serving drinks and food. The basement, 1st and 2nd floors are nearly all chipped stone block walls arranged in a random pattern. The remaining floors are a combination of half-timber and random chipped stone walls. The plan was for it to consist of 7 stories including one level buried in a stone hill with a path leading up to the entrance.
I had the basement and 1st floor pretty much completed as far as casting/gluing goes about 6 years ago. Over the past couple months, I have cast/glued the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor blocks. Now only the 5th floor tower section and all roofs remain to be cast/glued. I'm now in the process of cutting the foam board for the half timber walls for the upper floors and figuring out exactly how to finish up the roof sections.
That leads me to my main issue right now which is that my roof pitches are not consistent and doesn't 'feel' quite right as far as an overall look. I've also got dormers of different types (on edge and inset) which I'm not sure look great together on one model.
The below Sketchup drawings were made when I started laying out the interior of the 3rd floor a couple weeks ago. In addition to the six floors (including roofs) pictured, there is a basement level as well which the whole structure sits upon. The bottom two floors pictured have windows and doors, but I didn't get around to putting them in Sketchup...
Just for reference, the 'front' door is to the left of the round tower on the right. There is also a door leading into the kitchen/storage area under the half circle balcony.

Here is the back view. Again, there are windows on the 1st and 2nd floors, but I was just too lazy to put them in Sketchup. There are also pillars on the balcony which are not pictured below. Ignore the strange ledge between the 2nd and 3rd floors. The model was messed up a bit and I didn't go back to correct it. All of the stone layers are made to be somewhat 'seamless'.

All levels are 2.75" tall except the 5th and 6th. The 5th is 2" and the 6th kind of varies as it is mostly roof. The 2" 5th floor is causing the majority of pitch and dormer problems and I think it may need to change it to match the rest of the floors. Although I've spent some time working the 4th+ floors in Sketchup, the floorplans (and wallplans) are yet to be built other than the pieces set in stone (so to speak) and could easily be changed. If anyone has any ideas on how to finish the upper layers (the roof in particular), I'm anxious to hear them. I've reached a point where I've worked on it for so long that I'm likely to make a hasty decision just to keep the project moving so it doesn't get put on hold for another few years...
Here is the 3rd floor layout which, other than a few wall tweaks, is pretty accurate to what I've built:

I plan to post at least a weekly progress report and hopefully now that I've started this thread it will help keep ideas flowing and keep me motivated to finally finish the thing.
Questions, comments, suggestions all welcome.
