I attended Milleniumcon 8 as a dealer this past weekend and thought I'd share my experiences with the folks from Reaper.
In a word - superb!
I got the chance to try out their Master Paints in all colors/combinations. Had I known they were going to have a paint and take I would have brought my glasses so I could have seen to paint better! (My laser surgery changed me from near-sighted to far-sighted and I haven't gotten accustomed to the switch yet.) The paints have an extender added into them so they do not dry as quickly as some others do and the flow properties are nice. They *are* designed to support blending and layering. The brush-on primer is nice as well (and I don't care for many of the commercial ones, but this is an exception). It dries quickly and by the time I had primed my third figure, I was able to start painting on my first. The co-owner, Al Pare, saw I was buying a bartender and serving woman set and he grabbed me and said I just *had* to buy the strumpet set instead. So I did... what a hoot. One of them has granny glasses on! The others are in various states of solicitation work.
Did not look at the Pro Paints so have no comments on them but these are not what you want to use for terrain (Delta Creamcoat or Plaid acrylics are more cost-effective for this).
Here's a general note for your local retailers. Reaper told me they would accept back any of their miniatures that did not sell and issue a credit towards purchase of new ones to the store.
They had their Dark Heaven, CAV, and Warlord lines there in all of their glory. I got a chance to play demos of Warlord and of CAV2 (the upcoming edition) and enjoyed both. Actually I enjoyed the CAV stuff more but I probably would have liked the Warlord game if I had not been so tired. Warlord looks to require only 30-40 miniatures for a tournament sized army. The new Cav rules in Beta form are at www.reapergames.com - you have to register to access the downloads.
Nice figures, am seriously looking at carrying the entire Dark Heaven and Warlord lines and possibly the CAV line.
