so after a brief conversation with shadowrecon in the chat room I was reminded that I had an obligation to post my progress on this project! as you can see it's not an overly difficult task to undertake! some minor alterations to the original design was all that was needed.
1) I filled up the void in the sponson mounted weapons with green stuff, let harden, drill 5/32 hole approx. where original mount was, clean surface with file, glue in 1, 5/32x3/32 magnet with superglue, repeat x4. done!
2)cut sponson in desirered place, this part I leave up to you as to where, adhere magnet to remaining mount with small amount of putty, not glue, dunno it worked!
3)remove pivot studs on turret mounted weapons, fill void in back with putty, let harden, drill exactly in same position as stud was, clean..glue mag..repeatx2. done!
4)the turret on the other hand was the most difficult part of the work, it took some deterination to enlarge the holes in the turret exactly where they had been!
after that had been completed I filled the two halves with putty..glued turret halves together.. inserted magnets while putty was still pliable without glue, insert 1 of the weapons so as to ensure that the magnets stay positioned properly untill set.
