pjdaddy - Thanks, yeah... I saw that and it's part of what got me moving in this direction. Amazing stuff but far too advanced and involved for what I have in mind to start with anyway...

tebrown - I like Games Workshop stuff but it's a bit more modular than I want... I like the idea of trying something that looks a little more realistic... The trouble is that with a lack of modularity comes too much stuff to store. I think I'm going to go with small squares of finished scenery I can put next to each other rather than a flocked base with things I can plunk down on top. I'll have a look at Abaroth's world... I like Bruce's stuff a lot, but there are some things I feel like I need to learn elsewhere to be able to do some of his stuff that I want to try. But yeah... Definitely will be pulling a lot of inspiration from his work.

klingbeil - Their stuff is so pretty but I was worried that it might be too "train-y". Thanks for the recommendation, it's helpful to know that it's worthwhile to get even if you don't care about the train part.

Minileed - Awesome links! Thank you!

macattack001 - Thanks! I've been watching a bunch of tutorials but I didn't have a sense of where to start. There are so many options I was feeling a little overwhelmed and wanted to see what someone might recommend as a first place for someone who was new to such things.
