I am very new to this, and the first and only product that I have used is called "Silky-Rock" that I picked up from a local dental supply store. I live in Latin America, and was a little concerned about what my options would be (I got the mold before researching much), but when I looked it up it said it dried to 13,000 psi, so it is pretty strong. They say it is known for it's silky smooth consistency, and not working with other products I do not really have a point of comparison, however I will say that it is pretty smooth and for being a beginer it has been a pretty easy product to work with.

In Latin America, everything is more expensive, and this goes for about 2$ US the Kilo, so the price seems pretty fair.

It is easy to mix, and sets pretty quick. Pouring 2 to 2 1/2 molds at a time I used up my 4 of my first 5 kilos in one evening. I am using the wet water method, but I am not 100% on the proportions of the solution yet and have had only a limited amount of micro-bubbles; no substantial issues. It does appear to dry very wet though- I blew through a roll and a half of paper towels.

QUESTION: Has anyone found a more efficient (or more ecologically friendly) method to get the water off the than using paper towels?

Thanks,
Keith
