My Recent Posts
First, the idea is not to end up with sizable gaps. Levelling the surfaces before adding the next layer, or flattening the bottoms, can solve a lot of the problems before they occur.
Second, plaster works fine as a filler; you just have to throughly pre-soak the pieces it will be in contact with, else it will solidify almost on contact.
