Good progress was made this week on the roof.  Below is the foam board all cut & glued together.  The wall sections are also spackled, but a little difficult to see.

Almost half of the roof tiles have been cut & glued into place as well.  In addition the walls have been painted with the base coat and just need a wash & drybrush before adding a few timbers.

The progress is a little easier to see from this angle:

The foam board over the spiral stair tower still needs to be cut to allow the conical roof section to fit.  As I've mentioned before, the full 4" roof (5" diameter at the bottom) didn't look right on the half timber structure.  Leaving off the bottom layer completely made the roof look too small.  So I decided to pour the last layer of pieces for the tower to fill only the first two courses of slate.  After giving them a quick trim with the scroll saw, I think they will work once glued in as the bottom layer of the roof section below left.  The lost fireplace was not found so I built another one to take its place along with the final chimneys which can be seen poking out of the roof above.

Lots more furniture was cast throughout this past week - I think there is enough now to fully furnish the 26 bedrooms and most of the other areas in the inn as well.

The roof tile should be finished this week along with finishing up the painting and timbers of the roof level.  There should also be time to finish up some other details such as roof/balcony support beams, and some random touch-ups.  If all goes well, I should be able to get to the painting of the slate.
