More progress was made than expected this past week.  Several evenings turned out to yield at lest 30 minutes to get some part or another worked on.  As I hoped for, the walls were attached to the floor and the balsa was stained and glued into place.  I opted against the planned dormer for the large flat roof area with the chimney hole which can be seen below.  The dormer could have fit, but it would have been cramped.

In addition, the last two dormers were cut, spackled, and given a base coat of paint:

After I took the above pictures, I decided to get one more thing done and cut the interior walls as well:

I decided to stop the stairs at the level below and just have one exit from this floor down the round tower stairs.  The fire marshal would probably not approve, but if in dire need, patrons could climb off the deck to the platform below and escape down the stairs.

The final three fireplaces were nearly completed as well with just a few painting touch-ups remaining:

This week the remaining interior walls should be spackled, painted, and glued into place.  The balsa timbers should then get glued into place which should finish off this level.  Oh, I'll need to add slate to the roof sections as well, but that should be quick work now that I've acquired a scroll saw.  I haven't had a chance to actually use it for the project yet, but I cut a test tile piece and it cut through like a hot knife through butter!  What used to be 2-3 minutes of manual work with a coping saw can now be done in about 5 seconds with the scroll saw.
