Here is the real-world example posted by Asyer that I was trying to emulate:
Here are a couple options with the order of the ink wash reversed (please ignore the multitude of micro bubbles - couple of bad casts, but still works for a paint color test):
Here is the palette of the glazes I used for both examples:
From top to bottom: Wedgewood Green (Delta), Pewter Gray (AB), Burnt Umber (AB), Navy Blue (Delta),
Les' Dark Sepia Ink wash
Both examples were given a base coat of Country Gray (AB). Each glaze above includes only a single drop of paint with the remainder made up of Golden Glazing Medium and Water+Liquitex Flow Aid.
The two differences between the examples are the order of ink wash and glazes are reversed and some black ink wash was used in addition to the sepia on the second example.
What is the overall reaction to either scheme? Preference for one or the other? It is a bit tough to tell the subtle color differences between the two in the photos...
