Thanks for the comments!

@dixongrfx  The thought of extending the roof lines to make a covered porch (at least on the front left corner) had crossed my mind and I even tried it in Sketchup, but I found things didn't quite line up between the roof and the balcony.  However, now that you mention it and I gave more thought to it, I might try to adjust the floor plan below to make it work...  I'll try to mess with it in Sketchup and post something when done.  Thanks for bringing the covered balcony option back into consideration!  The random chipped stone is turning out pretty well, but it was a major time consumer.  In hindsight I should have made some custom molds to mass produce the pieces, but as it stands the only custom mold was to create some .75" tall curved pieces and other pieces for the tower.  All other pieces were cast from my variety of original HirstArts molds.

@Knightsfoil  My intention was to use the wood shingle roof as you mentioned, but along with dixongrfx I saw that the slate tile roof is coming out so now I'm leaning that direction.  The tower will definitely have windows, but Sketchup doesn't like 'pushing' holes through curved surfaces.  I've read there are ways to make it work, but my goal was just to get a general feel for how the floors will lay out so I called it 'good enough' and left off the windows.  I've flopped back and forth on making a conical roof to cover the tower.  I like the idea of it being somewhat open so patrons can look around the countryside and that could happen with having no roof  or some sort of arch-supported roof.

@Minileed  Yes, it weighs a lot and will not safely be able to be transported in one piece.  My guess is that the 1/2" plywood would flex too much and the cliff around the bottom floor would crack or something.  I do plan to weigh it once complete just to put a number on 'a lot'.   I'm not sure I full understand exactly what you mean related to changing to an arched or smaller full triangle roof for some of the sloped sections, but I think I have an idea and will try something out and post my interpretation.

Since the roof is still in a bit of flux, I've been spending some time making the wood flooring to cover the 3rd and 4th floors.  Although it is a lot of Exacto knife scoring of balsa, it is going faster than I expected so once that is done I'll have nothing left to do but to make some decisions on the 5th and 6th(roof) floors.
