First, after 8 years, I can all but guarantee that the stuff has gone bad, especially if the container was opened at any point. The catalyst seems to go first, from my experiences, although you can't tell it's bad until you mix it up. I had some "leftover" MoldMax 30 sitting around for about a year, and the results were pretty marginal at best. That mold poured badly, took about twice as long to set, and ended up cracking at the corner of one cavity after roughly 2-3 months. Since then, it's developed other splits (NONE of my other MM 30 molds have a single tear in them), so I'm probably going to have to scrounge up my original masters and make another.
OOMOO 30, as itar has mentioned, WILL dry out and crack or shrink and distort, even with minimal usage after anywhere from 2-5 years (less if you use it hard, in which case figure around 100 castings). None of the OOMOO 30 molds I made when I first started doing my own custom pieces 3-5 years ago are still fully "usable". I've already tossed all but one, and that one is only marginally good for a couple of "non-critical dimension" pieces on it. For ease of use and learning, it was well worth it, and I've gotten probably a couple thousand blocks for the cost and effort. It's perfect for those pieces you need a lot of for a particular project, but couldn't care less about afterwards. Anything that I want as a "permanent" addition to my collection will be done using MoldMax 30, though.
