Minor update, Malacus has shingles, just not the herpes kind (although he deserves them...). There was a kindly old gentleman living in a shack in the woods nearby. Malacus needed a sacrifice for the kobolds and a roof for his new bath house. Two problems solved...

Almost done with one half of the roof, waiting for the other shingles to dry before I finish weathering them and then time for glue.

I'll be happy to put together a tutorial on the plaster. As a quick FYI for people (like Skunkape) who may be tackling this before I do any writing, the product I used was Elmer's Wood Filler. In the squeeze tube it's white. I ended up getting a small tub (more goop, less money), which is easier to apply over large areas with a putty knife. The filler in a tub is a yellowish color, which you can see in my previous pictures.

FYI, the spray paint in the pic I buy at Michael's. I have quite a few colors and it is foam safe. Not sure why, but it doesn't eat foam like other sprays. I suppose the why doesn't matter so much as long as it works.
