Like TrueFreak said I now use Hydrostone, and I really like this product. Between the strength of the product (10k PSI), the ease of use (as easy as Merlins Magic), the price (I pay $20 for 50 lbs of it) and the local availability of it (thus no shipping costs), Hydrocal gets my $$.
The ratio that I use is 2 oz's of water to 5.5 oz's of Hydrostone. Changing that to grams is 56.7 grams of water to 156 grams of Hydrostone. I get a great slurry with this ratio and anything with high detail comes out very well.
My biggest complaint is that Hydrostone is white. So I have been doing some testing of 'coloring' the plaster as I mix it, with good results.
