darkitect, it's taken me the better part of a year to cast it, with numerous breaks for moving, remodeling, visitors, etc. I made several custom molds to speed the process, but it still seemed to take forever. There was a lot of sanding involved as the shrink factor from custom mold-making reared it's ugly head and it took quite a bit to make everything fit. I'm not 100% satisfied with how everything fit together, but with a project this size (and one that has taken so long), I've learned to live with the little mis-alignments. As far as painting, I predict any time between 20 minutes and the rest of my life. Once I get my techniques down, it should speed up, but right now it's probably going to take me a few weeks at least to paint the whole thing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed to keep that predicted amount of time.
I'd like to move on and work on some other projects I've had rolling around in the back of my head.
Thanks for the response,
Rob
