Quick curing concrete review

Hello everyone.
I just tried a dark gray quick curing concrete.
I don't recomend this stuff to anyone, even if it's very cheap (1,90 €/Kg): it takes over 1 hour to demold, it' heavy and it includes a lot of bubbles.
I casted it at 12°C, so maybe the temperature has increased demolding time.

Hey everyone, I just completed my very first project, the prison tower. I used Durham's Water Putty, and I must say I am very impressed. It was relatively cheap (I only needed 3/4 of a $10.00 tin to finish the needed 14 casts). When dried, it was nice and hard, and is hard to scratch or chip. pebble stone pattern matt

Today I was at Mennards, a hardware store, and saw some Christmas village decorations. They had a pebble stone and brick pattern rubberized matt to put the litte stores and figures on. It could be cut into shapes.

Don't ask me where I found out about this stuff. It may have been the same ork board where I discovered Hirst Arts, or it could've been the Bolter & Chainsword. I honestly don't remember.

Anyway, I finally picked up a can of the stuff at an art supply store. The sale point here is that you "can't" use regular spray paints on foam. That's the reason why I bought my POS single-action airbrush, and I've seen GW red shirts (and pics in White Dwarf...

Finding Excalibur/ Merlin's Magic or equivalent in the UK

Hello all,

I have just ordered my first moulds (exciting stuff!) and am looking to find a UK supplier of Excalibur or Merlin's Magic or an equivalent. Has anyone found such a supplier or a good alternative? I need an easy to use and very durable casting material as the scenery will be getting plenty of use for D&D. Many thanks!

i have had alot of questions about the correct mixing formula for Merlins Magic is. The box directions were created by my sales Rep Jay Bittle.
But I know the Bruce uses a different set I was thinking of having them changed on the boxes . Does anyone have a opinion on this?

Reaper Master Series vs Pro Paints

It's been a while since I've painted miniatures and I've got quite a few Reaper miniatures as well as GW miniatures that need painting. I just threw out have my paint pots that where GW paints. The ones I could salvage had the newer pop top compared to the screw lid. But I've only got about 15 colors so I need to get more. I was looking at getting reaper paints but wanted to know if there's a big difference between the master series paints and the pro paints.

From UltraCal 30 to Hydrostone

Last week I finished my 100lb bag of UltraCal 30. Based on the feedback from some other users of this forum I picked up a bag of Hydrostone from Larsen Foundry Supply.

Since I was trying a new product, I decided to look up the mix ratios online. The datasheets I saw suggested mixing 32g water to 100g plaster. This yields enough to slightly overfill a deep mold (like the basic brick mold) or about 1.5 of a floor tile mold / accessory mold. The result was very much like a milkshake,...

Question about and Ebay Dental Vibration Table

I have been thinking about purchasing a Dental Vibration Table (for around $50, pictured below) and I have a few questions. First of all, has anyone tried this particular model or one similar? If so, does it produce better results than the one Burce shows how to make? Second, has anyone purchased this vibration table from the vendor on Ebay named comewsithstyle or amdentalstore, they both appear to be the same person? Thanks for the help.

Hydrocal, good or bad?

Hey guys, I've been using PoP since I've started the HA hobby back in July, and since I'm probably getting a good summer job this year, I'm thinking of getting some Hydrocal.

Do any of you guys have experiance with Hydrocal?
Is it better than PoP?
How does it stand compared to Hydrostone, Merlin's Magic, Excalibur etc?

ok just wondering something Bruce ...............

on the original gothic Octagon tower you state the windows will probably need a slight sanding which was righ
and again on the new FS one they require a sanding is there a reason they are not just that bit smaller to save us having to sand them ?

Mold 701

Over the weekend I made my first casts with the molds that I received last week (as always, the speed of turn around between when I placed my order and when I received it was very impressive). I just want to say that Mold 701 (Fieldstone Basic Block) is the answer to my prayers. As great as Mold 71 is, I have long felt that the Fieldstone line has been less productive than the Gothic line because of how many more blocks someone using different Gothic molds could produce (see my comments

I like this with the dual navigation possibilities,
however on the inital page where you can choose which method you wish to navigate, would it be possible to have an extra column showing an image of the newest mold (or the last 3), as well as a date for when it was last updated, that way it would be easy to see if I've missed a release ;-)
